Holistic Healing - Wish Rock Relaxation

As our health awareness expands, more and more people are turning towards a naturalistic approach to healing that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit.  Holistic healing is a method that prioritizes you thrive rather than just survive.  It focuses on prevention and going to the root cause of suffering; finding natural ways to release what is no longer serving you.

There are several modalities to use, either on their own or in tandem with each other.  Wellness practitioners and holistic care providers can guide you in the direction that makes sense for you and your needs.  Prioritizing self care is one of the goals of Wish Rock Relaxation, and we'd love to share some ways to focus on wellness.

Yoga

The word "yoga" is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning "to join." It means the union of body, mind and soul.  Yoga is also known as a spiritual science of self-realization.  The Indian sage Patanjali, in his Yoga Sutra, defines yoga as a practice to control the afflictions of the mind.

Yoga has so many benefits, including increased flexibility, building muscle strength, prevents cartilage and joint breakdown, and drops your blood pressure, among much much more!  Check out this article to learn more benefits of yoga.

Meditation

Science is beginning to prove what yogis, monks, and Kung Fu masters have known for centuries: that meditation can help to relieve stress and even serious medical conditions. This ancient practice benefits you physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually, and all of those layers blend and harmonize to create the wonderful being that you are. Meditation works on the whole person. Some would even say that meditation is the cure-all for most ailments.

We know, for many people, it is difficult to begin.  We recommend searching for a guided meditation that makes sense for you on YouTube.  It has an endless library of videos that will guide you through meditations for relaxation, sleep, attracting money, removing blockages, etc.

Reiki

Reiki Holistic Healing

Reiki is an ancient Japanese energy healing practice that promotes balance and healing on all 4 major aspects of health: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”.  This Alternative Medicine practice is a beautifully relaxing non-invasive healing modality that works on the energetic level of all living things.

Working with chakras, meridians and nadis, Reiki practitioners work to restore harmony in the body. In a typical session, the reiki practitioner may lightly touch you, specifically on acupuncture points or energetic meridians.  Clients may experience a warmth, coolness, or glowing radiance sensation in their body.  Each person is different and will experience Reiki in their own way.  However, you can rest assured that your Reiki session will be deeply relaxing, and will leave you feeling peaceful and centered.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture Holisitic Healing

If you’re new to holistic healing as a type of treatment, acupuncture can seem a bit terrifying. How could pressing needles into your skin possibly make you feel better? Doesn’t that hurt?

Well, no, it’s definitely not the overtly painful procedure you may be imagining, and considering that it’s been studied and practiced for decades, it seems acupuncture enthusiasts could seriously be onto something. Some people swear by acupuncture, citing it as a “miracle” to improving their quality of life because it’s said to be able to treat everything from depression and allergies to morning sickness and cramps.

NIR Sauna

NIR Sauna Holistic Healing

study from Finland found that those who used saunas on a regular basis reduced their risk of heart failure, coronary heart disease and had longer lifespans. They tracked more than 2,000 Finnish men for nearly 20 years on average and also found that more sessions per week provided more health benefits.

Near Infrared Saunas Provide Enormous Health Benefits in 2 Main Categories of Effects:

  1. Near Infrared Light Therapy, also referred to as photobiomodulation, mitochondrial stimulation, near infrared light therapy, phototherapy, red light therapy
  2. Hyperthermic Therapy, also referred to as Heat Conditioning or Heat Therapy

Why choose a Near Infrared Sauna instead of a Regular Sauna?

1. Infrared light is uniquely beneficial as it is 600nm – 950nm. The phototherapy benefits it provides are totally unique to this narrow band of the sunlight’s spectrum.
2. We only have any photoreceptors near infrared and visible red. The NIR (near infrared) light directly activates various cellular processes that promote cellular healing, detoxification, increased metabolism, and more.
3. NIR light is safe for the eyes and can heal cellular damage in the eyes.
4. Here are some of the healing benefits of NIR: alkalinization of the cells, improves athletic performance, improves certain skin conditions, boost metabolism, promotes fat loss, pain management, and more.
5. Ultra-low EMF.
6. Provides sufficient heat for effective hyperthermic therapy.
